What happens to data on this site

This page explains what happens to personal data when you read this site. It is short, because this site does very little: it publishes an article, and it measures how many people arrive and whether the page works.

Who is responsible

The controller for this site is PeptSelect Editorial. PeptSelect is a trading name of KOVONAGE LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17311004, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. What is collected

• Measurement data. Pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser and how you reached the site, including any advertising click identifier in the address you arrived with. This is collected through Google Tag Manager and the Google services configured in it.
• Technical data. Your IP address is processed by our host and by those services in order to deliver the page and to protect it from abuse. We do not keep server logs ourselves.
• Your banner choice. Stored in your own browser so the cookie notice does not reappear on every page. It never leaves your device.

We do not collect names, postal addresses, telephone numbers, payment details or any special category data, because there is no way to give them to us here.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies set through the tag container are used for audience measurement and for advertising measurement, including recognising that a visit followed an advertisement. Google Consent Mode is implemented on this site. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time; the article is readable without them, and nothing on this site depends on them.

• Consent for measurement and advertising cookies, where consent is required in your jurisdiction.
• Legitimate interests for keeping the site available, secure and readable, and for understanding in aggregate whether it is read.

Sharing and transfers

Measurement data is processed by Google as our processor, and may be transferred outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area under the transfer mechanisms Google operates. Our hosting provider processes the request needed to serve the page. We sell no data, and we share none with anyone else.

Retention

Aggregated measurement data is kept for as long as it is useful to the measurement service and no longer than its own retention settings allow. Nothing on this site creates a record about an identified person that we could retrieve.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy. Write to editor@peptselects.com. Please note that we hold almost nothing about individual readers, so in most cases the honest answer to an access request will be that there is nothing to produce.

If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom, or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.

Children

This resource is written for readers aged 21 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process children's data.

If this page changes, the review date at the top changes with it.
